India’s two most popular activities are Cricket and Bollywood. The IPL brings them both together. The event kicks off on the 8th April with the Indian skipper and the Mahendre Singh Dhoni against the Indian team’s batsman Gautam Gambhir. Together when they played for the Indian team they were successfully crowned the World Cup Champions. Now in IPL they shall compete against each other.
Chennai Super Kings owned by India cements limited has managed to retain the Indian skipper Dhoni, who played a match winning innings under pressure in the world cup finals. This led Indians to a comfortable win and he is now counted next to Kapil Dev for bringing the cup back to india after more than 2 decades. The team also has suresh raina and michael Hussey – “mr Cricket”, who are in excellent form. The bowling order also seems to be pretty strong with R ashwin and doug bollinger.
The Knight Riders on the other hand have managed to bag Gautam Gambhir, who played for the world champions this year and has consistently performed in almost every match. He also contributed an essential 97 runs in the finals after the team lost two wickets in the initial stages of the match. The team’s batting order also includes Jacques Kallis and Brad Haddin. The bowling order is also very promising with Brett Lee and Yusuf Pathan. The team also has Balaji who can be dangerous at times.
Both the teams have two players from the Indian team who emerged as the world champions. The match on the 8th would definitely be a good watch with both teams competing against each other. It would be tough to predict that among the world champion players, who’d emerge the winner!!!
